In 2004, GS Yuasa Corporation was established by merging Japan Storage Battery Co., Ltd. (GS brand) and YUASA Corporation (YUASA brand) – two large manufacturers of the accumulator batteries – to join efforts for promotion of their products on the international market. Because of this integration, the transnational corporation was established being the largest one in whole Asia and in Japan in particular, with 13% share on the world market of lead-acid storage batteries. The corporate headquarter is in Tokyo, Japan. For now, the GS Yuasa Group consist of 81 subsidiaries and 41 affiliates in 20 countries throughout the world with staff of 12,000.
